JaVa Software Engineer

We are looking for software developers of at least associate level to join our Innsbruck, Austria based team. We build complex and compelling state of the art web and desktop applications (yes, "the desktop" is very alive!!), typically driven by RESTful backends. Our customers include top 500 companies in the automotive, energy or financial industries as well as governments and governmental entities. Our ideal candidates are curious and collaborative people who are eager to share what they already know and to jump in on an opportunity to dive into new territory.

And here's where you come in:

You'll join our cross-functional development teams in developing custom Java applications, running on "ordinary" desktops as well as web browsers. At the frontend side, our software is typically written either using JavaFX and our e(fx)clipse framework, Eclipse RCP or React.JS. No matter what frontend technology is used, these days our applications are styled using CSS, so experience here will come in handy, too. At the backend side, all the fun is done using state of the art Java technology, including Microservices and Java/
Jakarta EE.

We understand you'll maybe have a greater interest and experience in some of those technologies than others, but nevertheless appreciate if you are willing to walk paths less familar, too. It's in our genes to not only keep up with the latest technologies, but to define them! Our approach is far from perfect and we really love people helping us to refine it, and everyone has a seat at the table!

What we expect:

  • Professional experience in Java development
  • Bonus points, if you did Eclipse RCP development
  • Bonus points, if you've been using JavaFX (and e(fx)clipse) in the past
  • A good understanding of object oriented design (including design patterns)
  • A desire to collaborate and innovate in small and highly agile teams
  • Good oral and written English knowledge is mandatory
  • Good oral and written German knowledge is a big plus

What we appreciate as well:

  • no fear to work in a DevOps environment
  • some knowledge about docker and kubernetes

It doesn't matter if you've only got a few years in IT or are looking to grow your existing career, here at BestSolution you can perfectly balance great work with great life in a very exciting scenery, embedded in the Tyrolean mountains, but at the same only a few hours away from the sea as well. We don't primarily hire you for your certificates or your experience, we need you for what you can do! We understand that our employees are the most valuable assets and taking care of our people is the right thing to do:

  • Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary
  • Comprehensive health coverage for you and your family
  • Ability to craft your calendar with flexible locations and schedules for many roles
  • At least 5 weeks of paid vacation each year
  • Embracing parenthood with parental leave between a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 24 months
  • Part time employment for parents to take care of your kid until the age of 7

People are as different as
our world.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, or disability status or any other basis protected by law or regulation.

According to the Austrian collective labor agreement in the IT industry ("IT Kollektivvertrag"), the minimum gross pay for this position is between EUR 42,700 and EUR 48,300 (depending on your work experience).

Beyond that, depending on your experience and qualifications, we are offering individual overpayment as well.
